Start with relationships, not a stopwatch
Division facts are easier to retrieve when they are connected to multiplication. For example, 7 × 8 = 56 supports both 56 ÷ 7 = 8 and 56 ÷ 8 = 7. Ask the learner to say or write the related multiplication fact when a quotient is slow or incorrect. This turns correction into a reusable strategy instead of another answer to memorize in isolation.
